Think of Wikispaces as a big building. Your user account is your key. The rooms in the building are spaces. Your key will let you into any room that you have created, or into anyone else's room who decides to let you in.

I don't know if anyone figured this out yet, but we can edit whatever we want on this page. There's an EDIT link in the top right corner. Just an FYI.

    why use a wiki?
Wikis seem to be an updated online version of a classroom discussion setting where students are free to express opinions and share criticisms. The set up of the Wiki spaces is easy to navigate than some other sites helping maintain a constant flow of online conversation between the users. I feel as though this could be great for the business world to share possible ideas/ critiques on products/ and gather input from consumers.

    Why Use a Wiki?
I agree with most of the responses from above, that using Wikispaces is much more convenient than using Blackboard. This is just an easier way to post responses and submit work while at the same time viewing others responses. I believe this promotes interaction amongst students and offers quicker feedback.

    Why Use a Wiki?
Shepherd mentioned that this would be ideal to use for our class. I agree 100 percent. This application seems much easier to use and function compared to blackboard.

When you join Wikispaces, the first thing you will do is create a user account. A user account (with a username, password, and e-mail address) is your identity on Wikispaces. You may then choose to create a space, or join a space. A space is a wiki -- it is a place where you can create and edit pages and invite other people to collaborate with you. You can create, or join, as many spaces as you like on Wikispaces.com. Each space can have an unlimited number of pages and files.

    why use wiki
I think this is a great collaborative tool. In our situation, if we were doing group projects we could all post our work and have everyone in our group be able to access it. Also, they could add, delete, or edit anything in the document. This is helpful because so many people have different schedules with jobs, athletics, etc, and the convenience factor alone would be very beneficial.

    Why Use a Wiki?
I also agree with Flanigan and Shepherd on their points about social involvement and interaction. I feel strongly that businesses need emotion and personal interaction in order to produce and perform at the highest degree possible.

    Why Use a Wiki?
I think a wiki space can be a very efficient tool for group or team projects. It eliminates the need to keep emailing papers and documents back and forth. All there is to do is post everything on the wiki space and that way everyone in the group has equal access to add, delete, or edit anything they deem necessary. This is helpful because peers and co-workers can work on projects from virtually anywhere. I think the convenience factor is a good thing, but it can have a downside. I think that group projects turn out best when people are interacting with each other and showing emotion with their ideas and input. I think by using a wiki space, people would get lazy and claim that the project can be done in its entirety on the wiki space. In my opinion, a tandem of actual group meetings along with the use of wiki spaces would produce the best final product for a group or team.
